Pumpkins galore and more

Pictures really do speak a thousand words. Look at how proud Emma is of her prized pumpkin. This weekend was the annual harvest festival at Rock Ledge Ranch. Despite the crazy wind, it really was a beautiful day. Blue skies, mountains in the background, children everywhere enjoying mazes, hay rides and candy scrambles. We went with our good friends, Chris, Steph and their two girls that you see in the picture below.

Emma's classroom also has a field trip planned for this week to the Venetucci Farm, which is sure to be a fun-filled morning. The weather is supposed to be back into the 70's by mid-week (today was a bit brisk).

And how about those Rockies? Who would have ever thought they would be in the running for the World Series? Saturday night was a ladies night out for me in Denver, so we headed down to LoDo to watch the game across from Coors Field. You should have seen how pumped up the fans were filing out of the stadium after the game. Here's hoping they do well in Phoenix this week!

The main reason for the girl's trip to Denver was to participate in the Denver Race for the Cure. I used to do it every year before the munchkins came along but had not gotten up there in the past few years. Denver's race is #1 in the nation for participation, with over 66,000 participants last year. Hopefully they kept that title this year, it was amazing the number of people that come out for the event. It's very well put on as well, super organized and my-oh-my the goodies they give out at the expo. Super time at the race this morning, even after only a few hours of sleep.

Sweet girls w/the pumpkins! Glad you had fun at the Race for the Cure! Ours was yesterday, too, but at 3 p.m. so it didn't jive well with my sister's afternoon departure. I hate we missed it! Countdown to March continues -- it will be fun to see you!
